Volunteer

SFYHA is powered by volunteers. The time, talents, and support provided by our families help create a positive experience for all players while keeping participation costs as affordable as possible.

Each family is required to complete 12 volunteer hours during the season. Volunteer hours are tracked by family, not by player. All hours completed between May 1st and March 31st will count toward the requirement.

To recognize the importance of player safety, completion of SafeSport training will count as 2 volunteer hours.

*NEW FOR 2026* To simplify the volunteer program and ensure consistency across all families, SFYHA will collect a payment authorization during registration through Crossbar. Families who complete their 12 volunteer hours by March 31st following the conclusion of the season will not be charged.

Families who do not fulfill the volunteer requirement will be charged a $500 volunteer fee on April 15th following the conclusion of the season, using the payment method on file in Crossbar.

For families who prefer greater flexibility, a $500 volunteer buyout option is available during registration. Families selecting the buyout option will not be required to complete volunteer hours during the season.



As SFYHA continues to grow, there have been more opportunities to earn your required volunteer hours, and an increased demand to have the concessions stand open more often. In order to do this, we are implementing an additional benefit offering to families. 

Families that have fulfilled all 12 required volunteer hours for the current season may pick-up unfilled concessions stand shifts for account credit that will be applied for the following season.

Coaches, Team Managers & Board Members

• You are able to participate if your volunteer hour requirement has been met by being a coach, team manager or board member.
• Note: if you do not fulfill the volunteer requirement by the end of the season, any hours worked will go towards the 12 required hours

2. Claim an open concessions shift on the volunteer page.
3. Account credits will be tracked and added at the end of the season to be used towards the following season (same process as fundraising credits).
